Arnold . Ives, age 77 , of Lewiston, MI passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Eaton County Palliative Care.
Funeral services will be held on Satruday, August 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Owosso Church of Christ with Pastor Jerry Robertson officiating. Famly will greet friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Laingsburg Chapel. Burial will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso.
Arnold was born on March 23, 1935 in Flint, the son of Guard and Margaret (David) Ives. He graduated from Mesick High School and Great Lakes Christian College. On June 15, 1958 he married Ella Aikin in Clio, MI. He served in the U.S. Army as a Medic during the Koren Conflict. He was retired from Motor Wheel where he worked in the Powerhouse as an Engineer and Fireman. He was very active in the Atlanta Church of Christ and on the board of the Macosta County on Aging.
Arnold is survived by his wife Ella, children, Driscilla(Stephen) McCourtie of Lansing, Christine (Charles) Spence of Gaylord, Mark Ives of Onondaga, Kevin (Katrina) Ives of San Diego, CA, and Jamie (Nicholas) Hobart of Grand Ledge, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, brothers and sisters, Randy (Marylou) Ives of Birch Run, Dale (Sherry) Ives of Chapin, Miriam Colden of Davison and Sherri (E.C.) Heathcoat of Flint. he was predeceased by son, Paul in 1980, brother and sisters Audrey, Don, Linda and Gail. Memorial contributions can be made to Eaton County Palliative Care.
