Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he served as a Private in Company B, 8th US Cavalry. During the efforts to secure settlements in Arizona Territory from August to October 1868, Private O'Regan served as an advance scout on patrol of hostile Apache Indians. For heroism, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on July 25, 1869.
