TO OUR MOTHER:

The silver cord is snapped asunder
And one life is done;
Gone to dwell with God, the Father,
And wear the crown that she has won.

Weep not children, weep not sister,
Though we'll miss her day by da;
She is free from pain and sorrow
In that brighter land always.

Though one chair is vacant and can never be refilled,
Let us strive to do our duty and gain a home in Heaven.
