Joan Marie Capra, 86, Overland Park, Kan., passed away Monday, August 13, 2012, at her home. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Rd, Leawood, KS 66206, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Odyssey Hospice, 8735 Rosehill Rd., Ste. 200, Lenexa, KS 66215. Joan was born on Sept. 21, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., to William and Helen (Rollheiser) McGraw. She worked for Hedges Evergreen Nursery. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Joan is survived by her husband of 65 years, Carl J. Capra Sr.; her children, Carl Capra Jr. (Debbie), Lucia Ornelas (Jose), Jerry Capra (Christine), Frank Capra (Jamie), Liz Mease (J.R.); grandchildren, James Morton, Michelle Homan (Elliott), Maria Ornelas, Shelby Kuhns; sister, Gerry Donelian; brother, Don McGraw (Genny); sister-in-law, Sarah Capra; and many nieces and nephews.
