Mrs. Helen Bertels, notice of whose death has already appeared, was born in Germany in 1830 and died in East Greenville, March 30, 1914, aged 84 years. She had been a resident of our village for about 26 years. She is survived by four sons, Anthony, of East Greenville; Andrew, of Beach Grove; Joseph, of Akron, and Matthias; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a good mother and neighbor and respected citizen. The funeral was held from the residence in West Main street at 3:30 o'clock and from St. Barbara's church, West Brookfield, at 9 o'clock Thursday, April 2. Father John Wagner of West Brookfield, and Father Nicholas Weckel, of Doylestown, officiated. Interment was made in the West Brookfield cemetery.
