Born September 6, 1923 in Holyrood, Newfoundland on Conception Bay to the late Edward and Mary Ann Joy . She came from a long line of North Atlantic fishermen. She worked with her parents and sisters in their general store selling everything the villagers needed as well as salted fish and produce from their garden. While working in St. John's at Pepperell Air Base as a waitress , she met William Terry Morrison , who became her husband of 53 years . Bill died in 2003 and was buried with honors in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC. Her children adored their mother. Preceding Anne in death were daughter Mary Morrison Perry and her son Michael Patrick Morrison. Her three surviving children are Edward Morrison of Harrisonburg, (Mindy) Virginia, Cecilia Morrison Kleiner (David) of Galloway Township, and Joseph Morrison of Great Falls, Virginia. Survivors also include Anne's sister, Betty Snook, of Port au Port, Newfoundland, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Because of Mr. Morrison's Air Force career, the family lived in Newfoundland, Ohio, Massachusetts, Alaska, Hawaii, Mascoutah, Illinois, and Bowie, Maryland. Anne viewed the constant moves as a great adventure. She enjoyed her remaining years living with Cecilia and her family in New Jersey. Anne was a devoted Catholic all her life. Her children remember being sprinkled with Holy Water when they misbehaved and they all turned out just fine. One of the highlights of her life was shaking hands with Pope John Paul II while visiting the Vatican
