Services for Fred M. Sheridan, 78, of 79 Auburn Ave., Shelby who died Friday at Shelby Memorial Hospital, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church in Shelby with the Rev. John Oliver officating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call any time at the Barkdull Funeral Home from 4-9p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home 7 p.m. Sunday.

Born in North Auburn, Mr. Shelby spent almost his entire life in Shelby. He was a retired Shelby City employee. He was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, was past commander of the George Broderick Post 291 of the V.F.W. and a member of the O'Brian Post 326 of the American Legion, he was a veteran of W.W.I.

He is survived by his wife, Cora; four sons, Fred and Albert, both of Mansfield and Edward and James both Shelby; four daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Alt of N. Washington, Mrs. Robert (Esther) Kinstle of Galion, Mrs. Gene (Bernie) Kuhn of York, Pa. and Mrs. James (Mary) Moorhead of Shelby, sisters, Mrs. James Seidel of Chicago and Mrs. Minnie Clugston of California and 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
