James Lee Petty, age 52, passed away unexpectedly Thursday September 26, 2006 at his residence.

He was born June 21, 1954 in Muncie were he was a life long resident. He was formerly employed by the Local #1016 Carpenters Union. He was a member of the River of Life formerly Parkview Apostolic Church.

He is survived by his 2 daughters: Shauna (husb Landon) Caplinger, and Jessica Petty. Mother and step-father: Mary (Howard) and Stanford Metz. 2 sisters: Carol (husb Danny) Cooper, and Penny (husb Tom) Davis. 1 granddaughter: Hailey Caplinger, a special lifetime friend Dave Coy, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father: Jack L. Petty, and sister: Trena Petty.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday October 3, 2006 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Elder Richard Martin, and Rev. John Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm on Monday October 2, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
