Mr James A Pierce, aged 94, died at his home, 423 Dougherty street, Sunday after an illness of several months. The deceased was a native of Franklin county and had been living in Athens but one year. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Franklin Springs Baptist church and the interment will be in the church yard.
He is survived by two sons, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. He was a retired farmer and merchant and has a host of friends here and in Franklin county. The funeral party will leave Bernsteins's chapel at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning.
