Dorothy Virginia Bennett, 78, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2012. She was born June 23, 1934 in Ben Lomond, Arkansas to Wallace Howard and Ethel Dora Freeman Taylor. She enjoyed her gardening, canning, quilting and especially her roses. She held a senior group get together on Thursdays where up to seven others and she had special times.

She was preceded in death by her husbands John Jones, Sr. and Gerald "Gary" Bennett; her brothers, Wallace, Jr., William Ray and Windell Taylor.

She leaves behind five children, John Jones, Jr. (Karen), Peggy Selk, James Jones (Sue), Paul Jones and Mark Jones (Shelley); nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Donald Taylor (Betty) and Robert Taylor (Meg); a sister-in-law, Irene Taylor.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
