COLUMBUS - Frieda J. McGale, 90, of 3723 17th St., Columbus, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1991, at Columbus Manor.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Revs. Roland Jand and Charles A. Gierke officiating. A family prayer service will be at 1:45 p.m. at the church before the funeral. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until noon Monday at McKown Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. Monday until service time at the church.
Mrs. McGale was born Feb. 18, 1901, in Karlsruhe Baden, Germany, to Karl and Franiziska (Mersi) Doldt. She attended Lutheran Church and school in Jamica, Long Island, N.Y. She married Harry George McGale on Dec. 18, 1918, at Elmhurst, Long Island, N.Y. She lived in New York, Chicago and moved to Columbus in 1974.
While living in Chicago, she was a practical nurse, public school dietician and seamstress. She then worked for Cuneo Press and Beltronics until her retirement.
She played the mandolin in various concerts in New York.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Survivors include four daughters, Joyce McGale and Harriet Johnson, both of Columbus, Rose Schlottman of Villa Park, Ill., and Clara Hendricks of Willow Brook, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one daughter, one grandson, one great-grandson and two sisters.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.

Wife of Harry McGale, mother to Lorraine (Gleason), Norman, baby son, Clara (Hendricks), Rose (Schlottman), Joyce, and Harriet (Johnson). Died at age 90 in her home. Her daughter Joyce died a week later. Mrs. McGale's husband Harry is buried in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Her stepmother was Mary Fratz. Her sisters were Louise and Emma. Emma married a Pippin and died in 1974.
