Mary Helen Aldridge, 89, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Evansville on January 17, 1923. Her parents were the late Walter and Helen (Sanders) Blue. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Emily Wolf and a brother, Walter Blue, Jr.
She was united in marriage to James F. Aldridge on July 26, 1949. They were married for 55 years before he passed away in 2004.
Mary Helen had received her master's degree and spent forty two years as a teacher and taught students at the former Chrisney and Troy High Schools and retired from Heritage Hills High School.
She was listed in Who's Who in Education and was a member of Alpha Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving are a sister, Ruth Newkirk, Hope, Indiana; brother and sisters in law, Jean Blue, Tom and Mary Lee Aldridge, Frieda Lewis, Sue Miller and Jodey McLain and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Pastor Andy Payton will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Backpack Food Program at William Tell Elementary. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
