Pre-congregation Saint. Reputed to be a disciple of Saint Ailbhe, he lived as a hermit in a fissure halfway down a cliff along the Welsh coast in Dyfed, Pembrokeshire, at a site today know as St. Govan's Head. Legend maintains he turned from a life of thievery and was eventually buried beneath the alter in the hermitage. His hermitage is today counted among Welsh points of interest. His feast day is March 26. He has also been called Goven, Cofen, and Gofan.
