DEATHS

Death has been busy in our midst, the past week. On Monday, the 20th inst., Col. Thompson M. Ewing, one of our oldest and worthiest citizens, breathed his last. He had been a resident of Lafayette county for thirty-two years; identified with every important enterprise; a prompt contributor to every movement having for its end the public weal. He died in the seventy-third year of his age, esteemed and honored by all who knew him.
