Retired Employee of Park District Dies in Chicago Hospital

Willard Kitchell, a retired employee of the Canton Park district for 16 years prior to his retirement on Nov. 3, 1954, died Wednesday in Chicago Research hospital. Mr. Kitchell, who made his home with a sister, Mrs. Luella Spargo at 359 West Maple street, had been ill for two years.

Born Nov. 26, 1885 in Bryant, a son of Henry and Letty (Williams) Kitchell, he had never married.

Surviving in addition to the sister in Canton are an uncle, Ora Williams, in Champaign, and several cousins, Mrs. Alice Evans, Mrs. Shirley Lockard, John and Eugene Williams, Mrs. Leona Goldsmith, Mrs. Erla Middleton and Mrs. Beatrice Mace, all in Canton.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Murphy Memorial home by the Rev. Orville L. Wright, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.

Final rites were conducted Saturday afternoon in the Murphy Memorial home by the Rev. Orville L. Wright, pastor of the First Christian church, for Willard Kitchell, 359 West Maple street, who died Wednesday in a Chicago hospital. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
