John Warren Durbin, 87, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Durbin was born in Hammond, LA and lived in Dequincy, LA. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and his garden. He was a retired officer of LCI and was a Marine Vet of WWII. He served in WWII on Iwo Jima Guadalcanal and Guam. He received two purple hearts while serving. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of Dequincy; son of Henderson, Texas; daughter of Big Sandy, Texas; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, September 17, 2012 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home in Dequincy. with Father Ed Brunnert. Burial followed at Lake View Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
