SPRINGFIELD - Benjamin H. Piekos, 83, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, died on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Life Care of Wilbraham.
He was the owner of Stella's Restaurant in Indian Orchard for forty five years, retiring in 1996.
He was born on May 1, 1922 in Springfield and was a life long resident. He was the son of the late John and Marya (Wegrzyniak) Piekos. Benjamin was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
He and his wife loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Whitcomb) Piekos of Orchard Valley in Wilbraham; a son, Theodore H. Piekos of Sidney, Australia; two daughters, Diana M. Johnson of Harvard, MA, and Christine A. Patterson of Merrimack, NH; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 9 am from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian in Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Franklin St. in Springfield at 10 am.
The burial will be in Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware.
Calling hours are on Monday from 3 to 6 pm.
