Henry N. Stephens
Henry N. Stephens, a highly respected pioneer, crossed the plains to Oregon at the age of 18. He enlisted in the Cayuse Indian War undere Captain Lawrence Hall, Company A, Second Mounted Volunteers. He scouted in the lava beds of Oregon and assisted in the capture of Captain Jack. Later, he spent years in the California mines, returning to Oregon in 1874, and came to Pacific country in 1882, locating at Willapa, where he has lived since. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.M. Weaver.
