Geraldine, known as Jerry, was a daughter of Durwood Adams and Effie Brake. Geraldine's first husband was Charles Andrew Sweetser, Sr. Together, Jerry and Charles had six children. Paul Sweetser was the baby of the Sweetser siblings.

When she was 39 years old, Jerry met the love of her life,
Daniel Donohue. Together, they had two children.

Jerry was a terrific Wife and Mother, a great sister, and was loved by her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. More than anything, she was a wonderful friend and companion. She was a beautiful, strong woman, and the keeper of our family stories.

She loved to read anything she could get her hands on. Her favorite author was Maya Angelou. As a senior citizen, her favorite actor was Nicholas Cage.

She received her GED from Patterson High School when she was 49. In her sixties, she took math, composition, and art classes at St. Petersburg Jr. College. In her seventies she enjoyed her position as the President of her apartment complex's resident committee.

Time does not ease our sorrow; it brings us closer to the day when we will see her once again. Until then, we will enjoy life, laugh with family and friends, and find comfort knowing that Mom is watching from above.
