J. M. Bailey, Well Known in Southern West Virginia, Dies
from Injuries When Struck by Animal
MOUNT HOPE, June 13. - J. M. Bailey, aged 88 years, widely known throughout southern West Virginia, was killed by a pet bull on his farm near here yesterday. The bull had been a pet of the aged man for several years and was only "playing" with Mr. Bailey when a too violent blow with his head knocked the 88-year-old man to the ground, causing injuries which resulted in death.
Surviving are two sons. Dr. C. T. Bailey, Hount Hope, and Frank M. Bailey, Huntington. Also three daughters, Mrs. J. R. Montgomery, Mount Hope, Mrs. T. A. Warden, Beckley and Mrs. John Williams, Beckley.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Bailey cemetery at Cranberry. (Thanks to an anonymous contributor for the obit).
