Amity Man Killed in Carl-Train Mishap
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Macy & Son chapel for Lee Roy Allen, 52, of Amity, mechanic at the county shops here for the last five years, who was killed instantly Thursday night when his car was struck by a logging train in Amity and thrown against a signal post.
Prof. L.S. Shumaker officiated, and burial was in the Amity cemetery.
A member of the pioneer Beckett family, he was born March 14, 1884, near Amity, the son of Granville and Olive Beckett Allen. He had lived in or near Amity all of his life.
Surviving are the widow, Emma Nelson Allen, whom he married in 1916; one son, Granville, and three sisters, Valene, and Pearl Allen of Amity and Mrs. O.R. Vincent of this city. He was a member of Amity lodge, I.O.O.F.
