Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Born a Yuma Arizona tribesman, he served as a Army Sergeant Scout in Company A, US Cavalry. During engagements with hostile Apache Indians in Arizona Territory, March 7, 1890, Sergeant Rowdy showed continuing courage in locating the enemy and relaying the information to his command. For bravery in action, he and three other scouts were awarded the Medal of Honor. His original interrment was in Arizona at the Old Post Cemetery at the site of Fort Grant. This post was established in 1873 when Old Camp Grant at Aravaipa was discontinued. Remains were removed to the National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1907.
