Warren H. Seifert, 88, a lifelong resident of Ellington, died late Saturday morning, (March 3, 2012), in the comfort of the home and surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born and educated in Ellington, a son of the late Henry and Hazel (Ford) Seifert. Warren entered the war during WW II serving with the United States Army as a military policeman and was honorably discharged in March of 1946. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the WW II Victory Medal. He returned back to Ellington where he was employed for over forty years as a dispatcher at the former Nelson Freightways Trucking Company of Ellington.

Warren also was a self employed farmer who was a longtime breeder of Angus cattle and active member of the local 4-H programs. He also will be remembered for his provision of custom farming services in the greater Ellington area. Warren was a longtime member of the CT Farm Bureau and life member of the American Angus Association.

He was the devoted husband of the late Elsie M. (Brown) Seifert. He leaves two loving daughters, Dianne R. Aborn and her husband Emerson of Ellington and Linda H. Grey of Bristol; six grandchildren, Sarah, Seth, Martha, Jennifer, Patrick and Kimberly; ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Lester Seifert and his sister, Mabel Toth.

A private committal service with Military Honors will be held at Ellington Center Cemetery and there will be no calling hours.
