He was employed as a sheet metal fabricator at Boeing Company, retiring in 1998. A graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1967, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 173rd Air Brigade and was discharged from the 101st Airborne as a Sergeant.
Mr. DiMatteo was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and a former member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Chester, and also a lifetime member of the Eddystone Fire Company where he was Past Assistant Chief. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a football fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State and NASCAR.
Survivors: His wife of 41 years Margaret M. Skarren DiMatteo; sons Louis DiMatteo Jr. and William DiMatteo; siblings James DiMatteo, Carmen DiMatteo Jr. (Carol) and Marie DiMatteo-Budgick; grandchildren Louis DiMatteo III, Anastasia DiMatteo and Shianne DiMatteo; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass 10 AM Monday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Simpson St. & Chester Pike, Eddystone.
