~~~~Walter followed after his father Charles and older brother John by entering the employment of the Hudson's Bay Co. He entered service in 1847 as an Apprentice Postmaster, in 1851 his position was changed to that of Clerk at Fort Nisqually in 1852/53 he was also listed as a clerk for the Cowlitz Farm.
~~~Walter died on the 1st of Feb 1855
Walter is mentioned numerous times between 1847/50 in the Hudson's Bay Co. Journal of Fort Victoria, as is his brother John.
