Mr. Coatney, son of the late Noah and Margaret Lee Demark Coatney, was born in Blakely, GA. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Mr. Coatney was a U.S.D.A. Inspector with the State of Florida retiring after twenty years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Disabled Veterans Association, the Paralyzed Veterans of America and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include those he loved most, his wife, Shirley C. Coatney of Lizella; his children, Joey Coatney, Jamie (Jasmine) Coatney, Tammy (Tim) Farrens, Sherry (Jeff) Lowenberg, Joe (Olette) Busbee, Jennifer (Tracy) Burkholder; eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
