Born on October 5, 1931 in Milstone, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Manerva Back.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Lee Arnold.
Nancy was from a family of 13 children of which 9 have preceded her in death.
Nancy has always carried the Lord in her heart. Beginning with her family through her childhood years, continuing on for 60 years as she taught Sunday School in over 10 Churches, served as a Speaker at Camp Meetings, and as Ladies Ministries Director. She also served many young couples as a wedding planner. She stood by her husband's side as he pastored Churches for over 50 years. Also while taking care of the family home, she always hummed the Lord's songs.
Early in her marriage she taught in public schools in Logan and McDowell Counties in West Virginia.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Special thanks from the family to Carilion Clinic Hospice.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Oakey's East Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM prior to the funeral. Entombment will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
