MRS. LUCY SWIFT, FORMER MAYOR'S WIDOW, IS DEAD

Mrs. Lucy L. Swift, widow of George B. Swift, mayor of Chicago from 1893 to 1897, died yesterday in her home at 5526 Cornell avenue at the age of 88. she was married to Mr. Swift in 1868. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Joseph E. Bachelder, Mrs. Tracy J. Taylor, and Miss Edith L. Swift, with whom she lived, and two sons, Eldred B. and George L. Swift. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p. m. at Rosehill cemetery chapel.
