John M. Holley, President of La Crosse Bank, Dies From Sudden Paralysis Stroke.
LA CROSSE, June 20. – John M. Holley, aged 70, president of the state bank of La Crosse and one of the leading Grand Army men of Wisconsin, died suddenly early today.
Holley had attended to business as usual yesterday and had not been ill. In the evening he was stricken with paralysis and died in a few hours. He had been for years a member of the United States board in charge of soldiers' homes, was prominent in national and state politics and was widely known as a financier and Y. M. C. A. leader..
