He was born on June 16, 1921 in Clayton, NM to Samuel W. and Marie (Waterbury) Guist.
Glenn spent his early years in Carlsbad, NM, then moved to Kalamazoo, MI upon the death of his parents. He was welcomed into the family of his uncle Ford and aunt Alva Matteson and their children. After graduation from Kalamazoo High School, he worked as a draftsman until he joined the U.S. Army Air Force and went over seas to England, Belgium, Germany, and France. Upon his return to Michigan, Glenn married his sweetheart Neva Rhoades. They continued living in Michigan until severe asthma problems forced Glenn to transfer to a dry climate. They and their children Carl, Gary, and Gayle, moved to Albuquerque and Glenn went to work at Sandia National Labs. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Neva.
Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Althea R. Guist;
three children, Carl Guist and wife, Nancy, Gary Guist, and Gayle Greenman and husband, Art; grandchildren, Jonathan and Anne Guist, Derek and Emily Guist, Kristina Guist, Brandun Guist and Kelli Greenman; and great-grand baby, Penelope Guist.
Glenn's extended family includes his step children, Robert, Theresa, Richard and Patricia Sorrell, Kim and David Kulb; step grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Heather, Sandra, Katie, and Cheyenne; and step great-grandchildren, Kayla, Julie, and Madison.
Glenn enjoyed golfing with his friends Gabe, Dale and Jerry, bowling, food, and winters in Arizona. Glenn was a kind and loving man and will be greatly missed.

French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel.
