SOUTHWEST HARBOR Maxine E. Rodick, 94, died March 29, 2004, at MDI Hospital. She was born May 7, 1909, in Jonesport, the daughter of Alvah and Eva (Bryant) Woodward. Maxine and her husband, Clarence owned and operated the Rodick Restaurant in Bar Harbor for 35 years. She started in Bar Harbor, at the Rebecca Lodge Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary, after she moved to Southwest Harbor, she joined there.

She also belonged to the Senior Citizens Club of Southwest Harbor and she was a past member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church and a current member of the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church. Maxine was an avid bridge and bingo player.

She is survived by three sons, Clarence Rodick Jr. and wife, Esther, of Southwest Harbor, Gerald Rodick and wife, Janice, of Bar Harbor and William Rodick and wife, Ethel, of Grand Island, Fla.; one son-in-law, Walter Hanscom of Southwest Harbor; eight grandchildren, Carolyn of Bangor, Patty of Glenburn, Clarence III, and Eric of Southwest Harbor, Audra of Texas, William Jr., Wayne and Tammie, all of Virginia; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Polly Savage of Southwest Harbor and Arthur and Judy Burns of Ellsworth.

Maxine was predeceased by her husband, Clarence L. Rodick Sr., and a daughter, Pamelia R. Hanscom. Friends are invited to call 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 2, with Pastor Blake Brown officiating. Spring interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
