Albert S. Brown was my great-great-grandfather. He was born in 1852 in Maine, son of Solomon and Hannah (Colpitts) Brown. He was a farmer on the Brown Road in Woodland, Maine. He married Augusta Drake on April 11, 1874. They had 7 children including Myrtle, my great-grandmother in 1887.
The 1880 census of Woodland, Maine lists Albert as a farmer, age 26, and living with his wife Augusta, age 27, and two children born in Maine, Albert G. age 5 and Ellin May, age 2.
Albert died Nov. 25, 1914 at age 62 and is buried at lot 88 at the Woodland, Maine cemetery (row next to town garage, toward the back, small almost flat stone.) His wife and 2 sons, Luther and Bertie, who died as children are buried nearby.
