In 1907, Anna T Jeanes, a Philadelphia Quaker put up a $1 million interest bearing fund to educate black supervising teachers in the rural schools in the South. Mrs. Ware was one of the young black women to benefit from this endowment.

She was the Supervisor of Rural Schools in Houston County for many years, and loved by everyone in the Community.

Joel James Ware married Addie Metria on July 27, 1927. They were married 52 years when he passed away.They were the parents of one child, Joemetria, born March 1, 1961,
