"Samuel Allen, Warden of the borough of Greenwich, Connecticut, died at midnight Wednesday of pneumonia. He was 48 years old, and leaves a widow and two sons. Early in February he went on a pleasure trip to Florida, and came down with the fever on the day he started for home.
"He lost the trade of some New Yorkers at his smithy for favoring brick paving and better sidewalks in front of their property. Among his many patrons were H. O. Havemeyer, E. C. Benedict, and William Rockefeller."
