Ethel Elizabeth Arnold, age 80, of Houghton Lake, passed away Jan. 8, 2016 at Munson Health Care Grayling Hospital. Liz was born on February 18, 1935 in Reedsville, West Virginia to Frank and Hazel(Ball) Smith. She worked as a Sewing Inspector for General Motors for several years before her retirement. She was married on October 17, 1953 in Oakland, Maryland to Donald Junior Arnold. The couple moved from Lincoln Park to Houghton Lake in 1985. Ethel was a member of New Hope Chapel of Prudenville, Lincoln Park Pentecostal Holiness Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving Mrs. Arnold are her daughter, Donna (Rodney) Clements of Houghton Lake, MI; grandson, Jason Arnold; four granddaughters, Mindy Biladeau, Jeanette Clements, Amanda Clements, and Sarah Clements; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Cornett of Arizona, and Paulette Geurs of Arizona; two brothers Delbert Smith of West Virginia, and Vincent Smith of Tecumseh, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Junior Arnold, son, Donald Arnold, sister, Grace, and brother, Franklin.

Funeral Services for Ethel Elizabeth Arnold will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday January 12, 2015 from New Hope Chapel in Prudenville with Pastor Marty Tarrant and Pastor Fred Wynkoop officiating. Interment will be in Masontown Cemetery, Masontown, West Virginia. Visitation will be held on Monday January 11, 2015 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Liz are asked to be directed to New Hope Chapel.
