Mary Elizabeth Ash.

 

    Mary Elizabeth Ash died at the home of Frank Heald in the north part of town on Saturday (Mar.18) last. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, May 3, 1826. In 1847 she was united in marriage with Samuel Ash, at Springfield. The result of the union was nine children, five daughters and four sons, all of whom preceded the mother in death.

    Mrs. Ash had resided in Chatsworth and vicinity for many years. She had denied herself all of her life, and devoted herself to the care and rearing of her grandchildren and the children of distant relatives.

    The funeral services were held on Tuesday (May 21) afternoon at the Baptist church, Rev. C. D. Eldridge, officiating, and the remains were interred in the Chatsworth cemetery. Two brothers, a number of grandchildren and other relatives survive her.
