MRS. J.E. (TEMPA ZERIEDA HARPER) ALLEN
NOVEMBER 7, 1918

Mrs. Tempa Zerieda Harper Allen, daughter of James and Nancy Harper, was born near Hennipen, Ill. on Oct. 4, 1847, and died at Pontiac on Oct. 24, 1918, aged 74 years and 20 days.

She grew to young ladyhood at her home near Hennepin and on May 10, 1867, she was united in marriage to J.E. Allen, who died April 7, 1867.

Soon after marriage they moved to their farm, about two miles north of the tile factory, Chatsworth, and there they resided for many years.

In 1892, Mrs. Allen suffered from mental infirmity and up to her death she was more of less a mental invalid. She was a woman who was spoken of in the highest praise by the older residents who knew her in her younger life, a kind and loving wife and mother and she had many friends.

She leaves to mourn her death two sons, Chester, of Deleware, Ohio, and Roy, of Okmulgee, Okla., and two sisters, Mary Borup, of Princeton, and Julia Harper, of Granville. The body was brought to Chatsworth for burial besides the remains of her departed husband.
