Born April 15, 1937 in Cooperstown Township, Brown County, Illinois a son of Orville & Eva Dunmire Behymer, Richard married Shirley Ann Smith on December 18, 1955 in Mt Sterling; she survives.
Mr Behymer was Salesman for Ag-Chem equipment Company for over 20 years, retiringin 1999, Earlier in life he owned and operated a welding & repair shop and had worked for Holmes Equipment in Augusta, Illinois for several years.
He attended Hersman Grade School, Brown County High School and was a member
of the Hardin Lodge No 44 A.F. & A.M.
He always enjoyed working on and repairing old clocks and loved cooking
Richard also enjoyed building and pulling International Harvester tractors starting in the early 1960's and was a member of the National & Mid-America Tractor Pullers Associations, along with the Missouri, Iowa and Illinois tractor pulling associations where he won numerous consecutive points championships.
He was honored to have built the first pulling tractor for Marvin & Darvin Music and was always know as someone who was will to help others with there tractors.
In his long career, Richard was proud of the fact that he never pulled anything but red tractors.
