Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Solon Funeral Home, and also prior to funeral services on Friday morning.
Born March 15,1912, in Streator, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Newton) Alberts. He married the former Ann Kachmar on November 8, 1934, at St. Stephen's Church. She survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Kenneth) Swanson, Rural Route 1, Streator; a son, Richard Alberts, of Chicago; sisters, Mabel Weyand of Streator and Mildred Grubich of Peru.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Alberts, and a brother, Joseph Alberts.
He was a lifetime resident of Streator. He retired from the Santa Fe railroad in 1975 and was last employed as a parking lot attendant for Streator National Bank. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church and the Brotherhood of railroad trainmen.
