Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur G. Sr. and Mabel (Swanson) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was the Operations Manager at Newport National Bank for 12 years, Chief Financial Officer at Pettaquamscutt Credit Union, a commercial lobsterman and a salesman for Benny's in South Kingstown before retiring.
He was past President and a life member of the Snug Harbor Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the South Kingstown Elks, West Hartford Masons and Riverbend Athletic Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing, socializing and making friends with everyone he came in contact with.
Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Debby Marshall and her husband Tom of Bristol, Dawn Turcotte of KY and Diane "Deedee" Huber and her husband Peter of Exeter and seven grandchildren.
The funeral was held Saturday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., South Kingstown. Burial was private. Visiting hours Friday evening.
