Lyder Archer

Lyder Archer, 78, of Sistersville RFD 2, died at his residence at 4 a.m. Sunday.

He was born in Tyler county Apr. 7, 1877, a son of Arthur and Sarah Woodburn Archer. He lived all of his life in Tyler count.

He was a member of the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics and a member of Archer's Chapel Methodist church, having joined in 1910.

Survivors include his wife, Temperance Wilcox Archer, whom he married in 1901; one son, Carey Archer, at home, two brothers, Sthyler, of Sistersville RFD 2; Blaine, of Sistersville, nine grandchildren, a number of nephews and nieces. One son, Arthur, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Archer's Chapel. The Rev. G. J. Johnson of Pennsboro, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. H. R. Mahon. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be removed to the late residence today at 3 p.m. Sawyer's funeral home in Middlebourne is in charge of arrangements.
