Mrs. Edna Mae Alford, 65, of 724 Daisy Lane, died today at home following a lingering illness.
She was born May 3, 1909, in East Liverpool, a daughter of Robert White and Orphie Karcher White and was a lifetime resident.
She was a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher.
Mrs. Alford is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Alford, whom she married in New Cumberland, WV, Sept. 26, 1926; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Elaine Marie) Smith of Chester; a brother, Dale White of East Liverpool; a sister, Mrs. Catheline Stevens of Glenmoore, and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 PM from the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester by the Rev. Clyde Albertson, pastor of the church. Burial will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel Wednesday afternoon and night.
