Cynthia Ann Ayers, age 71, of Erie, died suddenly on Thursday December 31, 2015 at UPMC Hamot. Cynthia was born in Erie on May 30, 1944 to the late Evelyn Vogelhuber and John Zill.

Cindy worked as a home health care aide prior to her disability. She was the sweetest, kindest person who would give you the shirt off her back. She lived for the beach and would shop until she dropped. She loved the outdoors including gardening and camping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Richard Dean Cook.

She is survived by her five children: Susan Marie Fuller, Tammie (Garth) Freeland, Lorrie (Bryan) Yunik, Sherrie (Jedelle) Battles and Larry M. Diver all of the Erie area; ten grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Her significant other and best friend William Fisher and her siblings, David (Karen) Vogelhuber of San Jose, CA, Donald (Donna) Vogelhuber of Edinboro, Karen (Chuck) Tilkens of Duncannon, and John Allen Vogelhuber of Oklahoma and their children also survive.

Burial will be held privately by the family at Albion Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St.
