Jerlene enjoyed working at Northwestern Elementary School in the library and cafeteria as an aide. She was a gospel singer, song leader, and Sunday school teacher. She was extremely gifted in writing beautiful songs and poetry. She enjoyed southern cooking and shopping.
In addition to her parents and foster parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jennings Ash.
She is survived by three children, Darrell Ash and his wife, Linda, of Stephen City, Va., Sherry Frame and her husband, Garrett, of Albion, and Gregory Ash of Albion, four grandchildren, two sisters, Linda Lunley and her husband, Daniel, of Johnson City, Tenn., Betty Lou Marsh of Florida, four brothers, James Hizer and his wife, Carol, of Conneaut, Ohio, Paul Pitsenbarger and his wife, Carol, of Springboro, John Pittsenbarger and his wife, Rachel, of Lima, Ohio, Jack Hizer and his wife, Chris, of Toledo, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial in Albion Cemetery.
