Roland "Al" Anderson, 77, of 39 Jackson Ave., Albion, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Saint Vincent Health Center after a sudden illness.
He was born in Albion, July 11, 1921, son of the late Roland and Ethel Williams Anderson.
He retired from Penelec in 1984 after 38 years. During retirement, he was a part-time employee of Steff Funeral Home, Albion. He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Albion, where he served on the church council. A life member of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department, he was also a member of the Albion Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Albion Moose Club. He was an electrician for the Albion Area Fair for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Marie Hamilton; his stepmother, Doris Beach Brown Anderson; and his stepfather, Gordon Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Frombach Anderson; two sons, Philip Anderson of Erie and Barry Anderson of Conneaut, Ohio; a sister, Lillian Reising and her husband, Robert, of Elyria, Ohio; two half-sisters, Patricia Campbell and her husband, Harold, of Waterford; and Frances Einhipple and her husband, Les, of Erie; a half-brother, William Hamilton and his wife, Grace, of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Samuel J. Steff Funeral Home, 188 E. State St., Albion, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. The Rev. John Fischer will officiate.
Burial will be at Albion Cemetery
