"Claude H. Baldwin, aged 54, of Cherry Valley, died on July 27, in the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, where he had been a patient for four weeks. He was born in Charlottesville on April 26, 1904, the son of Clarence and Elsie Austin Baldwin. He attended the local school. He married Miss Bertha Porath on August 5, 1924. He had been employed by the Cherry Valley Town Highway Department for about 17 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cherry Valley, the Cherry Valley Fish and Game Club and the Fo-Brook Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs Joseph Vogelien, Mrs Raymond Moore of Cherry Valley and Sally, at home; four sons, Elmer, Harold, Clarence of Cherry Valley, and Claude, Jr. Forest Hills, L. I.; his father, Clarence, four grandchildren of Cherry Valley. Funeral services were held from the Ottman Funeral Home at 2 p. m. on Wednesday, with the Rev. Paul Wagner, officiating.
