Shirley A. Alflen of Windsor, VT died on August 31, 2015 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a period of failing health. She was born in Cleveland, OH on October 11, 1937 the daughter of Charles and Ann (Visi) Bergen and had been a longtime area resident.
Shirley had been employed for many years by J.C. Penney in Claremont, NH.
Following her retirement, Shirley volunteered countless hours at Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Virgil Barber.
Shirley enjoyed traveling, painting and line dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Alflen, Windsor, VT; a son, Robert Alflen, Ascutney, VT; two daughters, Denise Kaplin, North Kingstown, RI; Audrey Alflen, Concord, NH; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor, VT.
