He was born April 8, 1928 in Windsor the son of Konstantin and Sylvia (Vysocky) Baker. He received his schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Windsor.
He married Gertrude Gionet in Windsor on September 3, 1955.
Tom was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for many years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor where he was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Father Fontaine Council. He was also a member and Past Commander the Windsor American Legion Post #25 and the Windsor Elks Lodge #1665. He was fond of playing Bingo and dancing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His wife passed away on December 24, 1980. He was also predeceased by his parents, one daughter, Sandra L. Baker, five brothers, Constance Baker who was killed during WWII while serving in Luxembourg, Mitchell Baker, Peter Baker, John Baker and Stanley Baker, and by one sister, Mary Buckman.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Willett of Windsor, two sisters, Helen Rossi of Enfield, CT, and Betty David and her husband, Fred of Hartford, VT, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, July 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 22 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. Rev. Charles R. Danielson, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Committal services with military honors will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Church at PO Box 46, Windsor, VT 05089.
