Norman E. Avery, 85, a longtime resident of Windsor passed away unexpectedly at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Emergency Department in Windsor. He was the son of Emery R. and Pearl (McDonald) Avery. He received his schooling in Concord and moved to Windsor in 1944.

Mr. Avery was a veteran of the US Navy, Seaman First Class, serving during World War II. He married Cecile Cloutier in Windsor on November 4, 1945.

Mr. Avery was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor as a laboratory technician for forty three years until his retirement in 1987. He also owned and operated Windsor Printing and Supply for many years at his home in Windsor. He was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Windsor American Legion Post #25 and a member of the Windsor Fire Department.

He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Avery.
