Anthony J. Acabbo, age 80, of West Haven passed away suddenly on March 2, 2012. Born in New Haven son of the late John and Jessie Acabbo. Devoted husband of Rose Ventura Acabbo, for the past 53 years. He is also survived by his loving children, Christopher (Renee) Acabbo of East Haven and Lisa (James) Cole of Bethany, his adoring grandchildren, Christopher Acabbo, McKenna Cole, and Gianna Acabbo, and his sisters Viola Mauri of West Haven and Rosie Mauri of FL. He was predeceased by his brothers John, Henry, Ralph and Joseph Acabbo and his sisters Madeline Barulli and Mary Brownstein. Anthony was a successful and respected business man; he owned and operated Ack-Mor Sheet Metal for many years. He was a strong and generous man, a loyal friend, loving husband, and extraordinary father. He also gave and touched the hearts of many. He will miss the days spent with his best friend Ray Ludoviconi and having coffee with the guys at Onofrio's, and also offering up his opinions to his son, daughter, and Brandon at Mama Del's.
The hours for visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to either American Heart Association,1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or American Diabetes Association,2080 Silas Deane Hwy, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT. 06067.
